Before this phone I had the Xperia Ray which I loved, but I wanted to try this one so I bought it and I'm really happy with it. The design is great and it's really fast and responsive (It has a dual core processor). I'm a heavy user and so far the only thing that I wish it would be better on this phone is the quality on the videos. It's not bad but they look really pixelated I don't know why but I have a dedicated point and shoot camera which takes great videos and photos so It's not a big deal for me. If you use a lot of space for music and movies you should buy another phone with an SD card slot because this has only 8 gigs (Xperia Ray is in the same price range and has SD card). 4 gigs for the phone and apps and 4gigs for your music, photos, etc. I don't use a lot of space that's why I decided to buy it and so far it's great! Really fast and responsive and once it gets Ice Cream Sandwich it will be better. If you're looking for a budget phone this is THE BEST you will find.

BUY IF:

-You want to try a great android phone.
-You want the best unlocked smartphone for under 300.
-You don't need more than 4 gig of space for music and photos.
-You want a fast and reliable phone
-You want a great phone with front facing and rear camera.

DO NOT BUY IF:

-You want more than 4 gig of space for music and photos.
-You care a lot about high quality videos.

PROS:

-Great design
-Good size
-Screen is crisp and bright
-Dual core processor
-really fast and responsive
-Sony keyboard is one of the best I've used. It has swype function.
-2 cameras: Front and back
-LED flash
-GPS
-Battery life is great.

CONS:

-only 8 gigs of space
-Low quality videos
-Speaker doesn't work with google hangouts I don't know why.

EDIT Jul.3.12 :

1. I think I was a little harsh as far as video quality goes. It's not that "low quality". It's standard but some pixelation and artefacts make it look bad. Search in youtube for "xperia u video sample" and you'll see it in action.

2. I have had a problem with Google+ Hangouts where the loud speaker is really, really low. The loudspeaker works great for everything other than Google+ Hangouts so if you want this phone for hangouts I don't recommend it unless the 2 I got where defective. I guess you could buy it and if it doesn't work you can return it.

The phone came in great condition and was exactly what I ordered. The Samsung Stratosphere is a great phone that is very similar to the IPhone in that it is very quick and has all the apps. The main difference is that the Samsung also has a keypad which I feel makes texting so much easier. This is an honest seller and I would not hesitate to buy something from this seller again. Very happy with the purchase.

I have just completed two month of owning of Samsung Galaxy Nexus and I have no doubt declaring I am very happy with this. This is the best smart phone on the market for the time being until iPhone 5 or Samsung Galaxy S3 releases. I had iPhone 4 for 2 months and I like many other people who could not be satisfied with beauty and fruit brand alone threw that 'dumb beauty' . For me that was more of a 'show off' rather than of practical use.

Apple itself in a recent patent suit directed against google termed this as the "most creditable competitor to iPhone'. Apple co founder which is not a apple employee anymore and hence free to speak truth freely declared iPhone easy to use but 'Android more feature rich'. He dismissed Siri totally saying he could not understand how come internet could be needed to make a call through Siri. Do I need to say more now? If yes then here is the detail review:

Like ->
(1) Bigger HD contour display-> Though you can distinguish between pixels while looking closely unlike iPhone's Retina display, Nexus's display is gorgeous. Colors are very vibrant and rich. Black is real black (because of Super AMOLED display technology) which creates the whole difference.
The Screen is large and with medium hands I can reach to the whole screen stretching the thumb or fingers. Sometimes I tend to use the other hand (luckily I have two hands and both are fully functional so can't complaint).

Because of bigger screen this phone is more useful or convenient for what Apple invented iPhone for ie Browsing web, playing games, watching videos. And because of this I tend to depend lesser on PC/laptop/tablet. With bigger screen, power and customization of Android OS this phone is closer to our old friend PC/laptop.

**I run the same HD video both on nexus and iPhone 4S and nexus one was better to watch.**

(2) Soul-> The soul of this device is ICS OS which is now equal to iOS in terms of user friendlessness but is better because it is much more customizable and hence you feel completely in control and power. This is different feeling than using dumb iOS. After using ICS I really struggled to use the iOS or same iOS based apps. ICS is lightning fast and smooth.
Face unlock, NFC, android beam and google wallet (not available on Verizon version) are very cool. Face unlock works perfectly.
Built-in Data usage monitor is very helpful for not letting you go above your data limit.
-> Mine is international unlocked version which within a week got automatically updated to 4.0.2 from 4.0.1.
This has Best notification, better customization for web browsing.

Ohhhhhhhh... did I tell you android has taken two steps which is miles ahead of time and going to change the things completely? (i) No Physical button-> The buttons are in fact part of OS itself and function well. Hence the buttons can now be context specific and smarter. They change their position depending on how you are holding the phone or what you are doing. While watching video they disappear completely giving you the whole screen for watching, and yes they will reappear on appropriate place when you need them. (ii) Same OS for all devices: Unlike Apple now same application can run on any device running on ICS. For apple the applications need to be written separately both for iPhone and iPad. That's why Apple has lesser applications on iPads. With new approach of ICS now people will just write once and run it anywhere hence number of apps is going to get multiplied faster on ICS.

(3) Eco System (Apps)-> Android eco system (or app market) is there on par with Apple eco system. In the same period I have installed more applications than I did on iPhone 4 (because most applications are free compared to Apple). I am more functional on Android than I was on iPhone 4. There is nothing which I want and its not there. And yes now google going to start monitoring of applications so less argument against Android apps.
(4) Form factor-> I like its form factor more than of iPhone's. Countered makes it more convenient to use and keep in the pocket. Now to me iPhone is just any another device and I look on iPhone with pity.
(5) Battery-> I need to charge it once a day with low to moderate usage which is what other iPhone 4S customers are also doing. And if you are going to use it like laptop you will need to charge it more (is not this same with your laptop?). Better part is unlike iPhone you can carry batteries and change it easily. No complaint here.
(6) Reception-> Decent.
(7) Call quality-> Nice.
(8) Volume/Speaker-> Low, could be helped with volume control plus application.
(9) More social-> Very well integrated with google.
(10). Build-> Except the battery cover everything else is of high quality. I don't care about plastic versus metal debate. iPhone even with metal and corning glass are equivalently fragile and people have been reporting iPhone being broken having dropped just from 12 feet or so. And with gorilla glass on both ends iPhone 4 is more fragile. Remember gorilla glass is just scratch resistant not damage resistant.
(11) Typing-> is a breeze and it seems to read you mind and hence make typing a different experience than on iPhone. And big screen helps every here again.

Unfortunately this phone decided to do have some deliberate suicidal traits perhaps to avoid wiping away other Samsung devices. So here are the things which could have been improved upon:
(1) Speaker-> Could have been better (Minor+ issue)
(2) Reception-> Though not much complaint, Could have been just a 'little' better (Very Minor issue).
(3) Camera-> Could have been better definitely.
(4) External Storage-> Either they should have allowed adding external storage or given the device with more alternated with respect to storage capacities. (Minor issue)
(5) Display-> Should not be able to distinguish pixels (Minor issue but this should be ultimate goal for the display)

Conclusion-> This is the best smart phone on the market for the time being if you can live with some minor issue with volume. And all issues reported so far with this device seem to be software issues and should get corrected with updates or third part applications.

Besides this phone was relased 1 year+ Ago, I have no complains at all. I am in Venezuela and this device works 3G in Movistar/Movilnet and 2G in Digitel.

I received the phone locked, but I contacted the seller ABE-123 and they quickly reply. I had the unlock code the same day, with my new sim card, power on the phone, enter the code, and ready to go!

With a standard-heavy use, the screen brightness set to 20%, updates on, wifi on, I got 18 hours until my S2 dies! The phone reception is good, the screen quality is superb (despite lowres 800x480 screen) the web pages, photos, videos, games, and everything looks really really nice.

I have droped several times from 3 ft+ high my S2 and nothing ever happened, I just bought a TPU Dizotronic case that you barely notice is there. Construction +++!

The dual core 1.2 GHz processor + 1 gig RAM manage all load you can give without a blink.

Is lightweight and sleek, and the multitouch digitalizer is very responsive. I have written long mails without effort.

Overall, the best price-value smartphone right now. Dont look any further!

Update: I just updated to Ice Cream Sandwich 4.04 and the good became better! No complains at all!

I will start off by cutting to the chase. If you are looking for a new phone, this is a great phone. I highly recommend it.
Now, lets get to the reasons why I love this phone.

First of all, the screen on this phone is amazing. I recently switched from an iPhone, and I have to say, I was very nervous about moving to a new device that didn't have a "retina" display. However, all nerves went out the window when I held this phone in my hand the first time. The screen packs more pixels per inch than the iPhone and is very true to color, offering a phenomenal viewing experience. The screen on any new phone is the biggest decision point, and HTC does not disappoint; this screen is simply gorgeous.

After you get past the screen, the overall design of the phone is striking. I love the black on black design (again, I have the US version), and this is the first phone I have been excited about getting in black. (I actually prefer the black on black to the international black and red, but that is purely personal preference.) The screen melts into the unibody design, and the body of the phone is covered in a matte black finish that has the perfect amount of grip to it. The phone feels as solid as any phone I have ever used.

Beyond the exterior of the phone, there are man features worth mentioning. First, the camera is great. HTC has loaded this phone with one of the best cameras I have ever used on a cell phone. There is a dedicated image chip inside the phone that allows the phone to process images unlike any of the competition. As if taking great pictures is not enough, you can also take full HD video, and snap photos while filming. Even when watching your video later, you can snap a picture during playback. What a great feature! The camera can also be placed in "sight seeing" mode, allowing the user to bypass the OS and go straight to the camera when unlocking the phone. This is one of the many features added to the Android experience by HTC with their Sense 4+ overlay.

Alright, that provides a perfect transition to the geeky stuff. The sense 4+ overlay is not bulky, and actually adds some useful features. I would still prefer vanilla Android, but this overlay is very tolerable and does not get in the way too much. The One X+ features Jelly Bean out of the box, which is an awesome OS, and it is the main reason I switch to Android from iOS. Additionally, the One X+ is running on a quad-core Tegra 3 processor, with 1 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. In other words, this phone can handle all you can throw at it.

Now on to the dislikes.
One complaint and concern I have read about is the protruding camera. The back of the phone has a curve to it, which keeps the camera from sitting directly on the surface you have placed it on, and the camera housing feels like it is made out of a metallic material adding further durability. This has dampened my concern, but I have seen others with the original One X put a case on the phone specifically related to this concern. I am currently not utilizing a case, but there are many options available, and all One X cases do fit the One X+ because the body is the same exact dimensions.

(Most of this section will only affect people buying the AT&T version in the US)
Also, AT&T and HTC have thrown some bloatware on the divice, but most of it can be disabled through the settings, and with 64 GB of storage, the concern is further alleviated. I am a little ticked off that AT&T continues to block the free 25 GB Dropbox account (Verizon does this too, FYI). AT&T encourages you to use their "Locker" service as an alternative, which does not work and is a waste of time. I was primarily concerned with using Dropbox to back up my photos, and have since discovered that signing up for Google+ will instantly get you a free backup of all photos and video you take with the phone through their "intant upload" service. I even had photos from my iPhone on there.

I bought this phone searching for an upgrade for my old galaxy 3. I wanted something current, with good specs and if possible with a keyboard. I have to say that this cell is just what I wanted. I haven't seen it lag in any way, the screen is gorgeous (even if it's only a super amoled, not an amoled plus like some sources say) and it runs many games and emulators without a hitch. The keyboard is nice to have although It takes some time to get used to it. The camera is great, to the point that I don't take my standalone digital camera anywhere anymore. The battery is just good, It lasts a day with normal to heavy usage, but just that, you may want to invest in a car or portable charger if you use it heavily all time. I highly recommend this cell for anyone that wants a QWERTY smartphone, I couldn't be more happy with it.

Good phone. Came without a Sim card so I had to buy one. Phone was used so there were clear signs of wear & tear. Usb cable that came with it is very worn and doesn't work when plugging in to a computer. Had to buy another one. oh well...
